Test-ride the lift by sitting on it and operating it fully up and down,
ensuring that it operates smoothly.

Put a temporary mark on the rail (S1)

With the lift loaded, and moving down, release the direction controller
when the lift reaches the mark (S1).

Measure the stopping distance past the mark (S2). The stopping
distance should comply with local standards.

Using the direction controller to move the lift, stop the lift using the
holding switch to ensure that the motor brake is functioning correctly.

Check that the five pressure-sensitive edges (PSEs) stop the lift in the
direction of travel. There are two either side of the carriage (A), two
either side of the footrest (B) and one under the footrest (C).

If a swivel seat is fitted test the swivel interlock.

Test the key switch if fitted.
Ensure that all warning & information labels are attached to the lift and all covers are fitted.
IMPORTANT
1 Demonstrate the safe use of the lift to the client.
2 Explain the various fault codes and audible alarm and how client should respond to them.
3 Ensure that the client has and understands the User Manual.
4 When required by local regulations, complete appropriate installation test & examination certificate.
5 Remove all debris and packaging from the work area.
6 Ensure that the lift, rail and work areas are left in a clean condition.
7 Ensure that the client has contact details for assistance.
