Rack Installation Requirements

Installing 7 to 16 DEs for Each Node
This section describes the required (estimated) length of cable for configuring seven or more DEs connected to
each node with 12 CEs installed.
The supplied cable can be used for connecting between the FE and CE#0.
•
• A 3m or longer QSFP cable and a 5m or longer management cable are required between the FE and the CEs in
the first to third expansion rack (or up to Expansion Rack#2).
• A 10m or longer cable is required between the FE, and the CEs in the fourth and later expansion racks (or
Expansion Rack#3 and later).
If expansion racks are installed in a pattern that is different from the standard installation rules, the cables in
the connection examples may not be long enough to connect. If expansion racks are installed to the left
(when facing the rear) of the base rack, the 3m QSFP copper cable cannot connect between the base rack and
the third expansion rack (or Expansion Rack#2). The 10m QSFP active optical cable is required instead.
