The metal detector can discriminate between ferrous and non-ferrous objects. The pointer
of the display fluctuates when a metal object is found.
Adjusting the metal detector
1.
Turn on the device
2.
Adjust the volume to one third. Set DISC to the middle
position.
3.
Hold the red button on the handle and turn TUNE slow-
ly to the right and to the left until the pointer on the
screen almost indicates 0.
4.
You have now set the device.
5.
For fine adjustment you may use DISC.
Testing and using the metal detector
To learn how the detector reacts to different metals, you should test it before you use it for
the first time. You may test the detector indoors and outdoors.
Indoor test
1. Turn on the device
2. Place the detector on a wooden or plastic table, then remove any watches, rings or
other metal jewelry you are wearing.
3. Hold the search ring with the flat side toward the ceiling. NOTE:
Never test the detector on the floor of a building. Most floors
contain metal, which could lead to interference with the objects
that you want to search for.
4. Turn the volume control to one third.
5. Set DISC to the middle position.
6. Swing a ferrous object back and forth about 5 cm in front of the search ring.
The search will not work without movement. Coins will be better
recognized if you point the flat side of the search ring.
When something is found, a tone will sound and the pointer will
move to left (ferrous) or right (non-ferrous). If the detector does
not find anything, check the batteries and make fine adjustments.
