Mechanical Hazards
Keep the housing and safety panels closed and never reach
into the instrument work space when the unit is in operating
mode.
Chemical and Biological Hazards
All samples must be considered as potentially infectious. Han-
dle all specimens using established good laboratory working
practices and strictly apply appropriate safety precautions ac-
cording to local, state and federal regulations.
After redefining the routing, test runs shall be made with a neu-
tral liquid to allow optimization of all liquid handling parameters
and the routing.
Prior to executing any preventive maintenance task on the in-
strument or returning parts for repair, the instrument and/or the
parts must be thoroughly decontaminated.
Waste
Handling and disposing of waste has to be in accordance with
all local, state and federal environmental, health, safety laws
and regulations.
Operating Manual Location
The    )( Operator's Manual, p/n 391 400 shall be kept
in proximity of the    )(.

General Safety Regulations

Legal Requirements

The user is responsible for correctly operating the   
)(, according to all local, state and federal laws that may
apply. All precautions must be followed to ensure safe opera-
tion of the instrument.

General Inspection and Maintenance Duties

The TECAN instrument shall only be operated in optimal run-
ning condition. The preventive maintenance procedures listed
in the    )( Operator's Manual, p/n 391 400 must be
performed.
Only authorized Field Service Engineers shall carry out PC
configuration, installation and service tasks.
In case of safety relevant deficiencies, TECAN must immedi-
ately be informed.

Spare Parts and Disposables

Use only official TECAN spare parts and disposables. If other
parts are used during the normal warranty period, the manufac-
turer's warranty is voided.
