Testing

Preparations and Safety Measures

Insert battery, prior to commissioning. Proceed as follows:
1. Disconnet the instrument from measurement circuit
2. Remove protection holster
3. Open the casing by loosen the screw.
4. Insert the battery 9V by respecting the polarity and close the casing.
Only use continuity tester, if all display elements function perfectly.
Ensure that UUT is voltage-free.
Only use the instrument in dry and clean environments.
Verify perfect condition of test leads.

Continuity and Line Testing

Continuity testing has to be carried out when system parts are voltage-free. If
required, discharge capacitors.
Only touch test leads and test probes at handles provided.
Switch position ‚< 10 mA'
The test beep is audible and the green LED appears when contacting a electrically
conducting connection at a resistance of 0...50 .
When contacting an electrically conducting connection at a resistance between approx. 50
and 10 k the green LED appears only.
Test Current is less than 10 mA.
Switch position ‚< 200mA
When contacting a electrically conducting connection at a resistance of 0...10
light is blinking.
Test current: 200 mA !
