7.2 Checking the motor connection
ü You have connected a synchronous servo motor as described in the chapter

a Check whether the grounding was established properly.
a Check whether all live parts are protected against unintentional or intentional contact.
a Check whether the rotor of the synchronous servo motor can turn freely.
a Check the direction of rotation of the synchronous servo motor by actuating it using the
corresponding servo amplifier (also observe the documentation of the servo amplifier).
a Check the function of the motor brake by applying control voltage to it (note the polar-
ity). The motor brake must be released.
