7.1 Checking the motor installation
ü You have installed a synchronous servo motor as described in the chapter
Installation [
a Check the general installation and alignment of the synchronous servo motor.
a Check the drive elements (coupling, gear unit, belt drive) for firm placement and correct
setting.
a Check whether the motor surface is protected against unintentional or intentional con-
tact.
a Check whether measures have been taken to prevent possible contact with tempera-
ture-sensitive motor parts.
a Check whether the rotor of the synchronous servo motor can turn freely.
ð If a motor brake is present, it must be released before inspection. Also note the polarity
of the connections!

ceed 65 °C through operation.
– Take suitable protective measures against unintentional and inten-
tional contact with the motor.
