8970B Noise Figure Meter Security and Memory Clearing
Introduction
8970B memory clearing process requires removal of the processor battery for 15 minutes or longer.
Below are step-by-step instructions for removing this battery. Make sure you use proper ESD
pre-cautions.
Tools Required
— Torx T15 driver
— #2 Phillips screwdriver
Procedure
1. Unplug the 8970B from AC power.
2. Place the instrument upside-down on a flat surface.
3. Remove the bottom cover using Torx T15 driver and #2 Phillips screwdriver.
4. Lift the processor assembly by loosening the two screws and hinge the board away as shown
below:
