Graphical navigation and page links
Standard graphical navigation
A standard graphical navigation is provided at runtime by MM8000 following the
hierarchy of the plant browser. In such a case, each graphical object associated to
a data point also provides a link to the graphic of children nodes in the hierarchical
structure (the plant browser tree): double click a foreground object on a map at
runtime to select the first available graphic of child node (or grand-child and so on
until an associated page is available).
Free graphical navigation
In addition to the standard "vertical" navigation mechanism, a free navigation can
be defined by adding specific linking objects that allows moving the current
graphical view from one point of the plant browser tree to another and back. This
implies that this navigation is supported in the plant browser only and for the
related map view (which should be set as default mode). The link objects are not
shown on the maps used during event treatment.
Two types of links exist. You can configure:
A link in a map to select another point, i.e. to open the corresponding page. If
no associated graphic is found at runtime, then another view is selected, e.g.
video or text. If multiple pages are present, the first one is shown and you can
select the others using a toolbar command.
A direct link to a manual page (see Creating manual pages [➙ 31]). At runtime,
double clicking this link will display the linked manual page. In such a case, the
manual page node in the plant browser tree is selected and the node visibility
has to be considered when defining the Security Profiles (refer to the MM8000
ICC manual, doc.no. A6V10062413).
A toolbar command is available in the graphical view of the plant browser to go
back in the navigation path. No back command is available in video or text views.
To configure a link, do the following:
1. Open the map from which you want to create the link.
2. Select the foreground layer.
3. Select the link destination point (or page) on the tree structure.
4. Drag and drop the point (or page) to the map.
 The object associated to the point (or page) appears on the map.
5. Page links are automatically created. For data points, right-click the object and
select the command Graphic Link in the contextual menu.
Note: This functionality is not available for the MT8001 Management Terminal.
