5.3.4 Removing splinters

Tools you will need:
Tweezers
Soft brush
Follow these steps to clean the Scanner from the splinters:
1. Remove bigger pieces of shattered glass slide with the tweezers.
2. Remove smaller glass specks from the feeding tray by brushing them gently away towards the
side panel of the Scanner.

5.4 Maintenance tasks

5.4.1 Preventive maintenance

To prevent fungus growth
Do not leave the equipment in an unconditioned environment with a storage temperature
above 60 °C (140°F) or below 0 °C (32°F), which may damage the equipment.
Maximum operating temperature is 35 °C with a relative humidity of less than 75%.
Install it in a room with proper air ventilation.
Do not let dust or fingerprints remain on optical surfaces.

5.4.2 Refilling the pipetting unit

The syringe of the pipetting unit is capable of storing distilled water as immersion fluid for the wet
objective. If the remaining quantity in the syringe is too low, the software instructs you to remove the
it and refill it with distilled water. Make sure that only premium quality distilled water (conductance is
less than 10 µS/cm) is used.
Follow the below steps on how to remove, refill, and place the pipette back to its place.
1. Open the service door (see section 5.1 Opening the service door).
2. The pipetting unit is located in the middle area of the device, next to the magazine
compartment.
