DGEA−...
Fitting in a vertical or sloping position:
Warning
If there is a power cut or if the toothed belt breaks, the moveable mass will slide
down.
Uncontrolled moving masses can cause injury to people (squashed fingers) or
damage to objects.
S Make sure that the DGEA−... is driven only by motors with integrated spring−
loaded holding brake.
S Check whether additional external safety measures are necessary in order to
prevent damage in the event of a fracture of the toothed belt (e.g. toothed
latches or moving bolts). In this way you can prevent the moveable mass from
sliding down.
These brakes are not suitable for braking masses in movement (they are subject to
wear). They hold masses at a stand securely in position.
Fitting the motor (not for right−angle gear units):
1. Clean the shaft pin and the coupling. The coupling will only grip the shaft pin
without slipping if the pin is free of grease.
2. Connect the (geared) motor and the DGEA−... in accordance with Fig. 17
(screws
With DGEA−40−SE: Use locking washers under all screw heads.
3. Push the cantilever arm until the locking screw on the side of the motor is di
rectly under the fitting hole of the coupling housing (check with torch).
4. Tighten the locking screw of the coupling through the fitting hole (tightening
torque M
5. Press the plastic plugs supplied onto the mounting holes of the coupling
housing. In this way you will avoid dirt on the internal moving parts.
