INSTANCES

Below the main AES67 settings are entries for the five instances. By expanding each of these options you can
set which AES67 input is received, the name and address of that instance's outgoing AES67 stream, and other
parameters.

ENABLE

All AES67 channels are enabled by default. If you plan on using analog or AES3 audio I/O on instance #1, disable
AES67 mode here. If you don't plan on using an instance and want to turn off its output AES67 stream, set that
instance to disabled here.

AES67 INPUT

For each instance, you'll need to choose or define the AES67 input stream you intend to use. Chances are you'll be
doing this on the controller software for your AoIP network. It's important to set up the system output (and thereby
MultiRack input) audio channel to be AES67 compliant. If you don't know how to do that, the system-specific cheat
sheets available on the Comrex web site can help.
Once you're aware that the MultiRack input stream is active, choose the instance input setting in the AES67
options, and select "Source". As shown in Figure 33, a box will appear on the right side of the page, with a pull-
down menu allowing you to choose from all the available streams that have been discovered on the network. If
your target stream is available, choose it and click "Apply Changes".

Aes67 Input
If your target stream does not show up in the list, it might be misconfigured, or it might not be advertising using
one of the MultiRack's discovery protocols. Note: MultiRack does not support the Wheatnet discovery protocol.
You'll need to choose the "Manual SDP" option in this scenario.
Once Manual SDP is chosen, a new entry appears under Input 1 labeled "SDP." As shown in Figure 34, selecting this
opens a text field in the right side of the page. SDP is a text file describing all the attributes of the input stream. This
can be extracted from your AoIP controller software. Once you find the SDP of your stream, you can cut and paste
the text from it into the SDP field and click "Apply changes".
