IBM 8265: Planning and Site Preparation Guide
The number of power supplies required to operate the 8265 and all installed modules
is determined by adding together:
The system overhead, the power required by the 8265 to operate the fans and
backplane, which is 1 Watt at +5.2 volts.
The total power requirement (at +5.2 volts) of all installed modules (and daughter
cards).
When you have calculated the total power required, you can determine how many
power supplies are needed (see page 14).
If power fault-tolerance is required, then at least one additional power supply should
be installed.

Table 12 lists the power requirements for the 8265 modules and daughter cards.
