Overview
This chapter describes the operation of the SpectraComm Subrate Multiplexer (SRM-6) through the
terminal interface menus and screens. In the descriptive tables for each screen, default values are
shown in Bold. Refer to
session.

Basic Procedures

1. At the SCM, select Element Access from the Main Menu, the Shelf Inventory screen appears.
This screen is always the initial point of entry for accessing any element by its slot number.
2. Select the associated slot number to access the SRM-6. The SRM-6 Main Menu appears, as
shown below.
3. Select the desired function from the SRM-6 Main Menu.
4. At the submenus for each function, select a menu item and then press Enter.
Use the Up/Down arrow keys to scroll through the settings. Save configuration changes or exit
the screen without saving changes. Each function is described in detail in this chapter.
5. To exit the SRM-6 Main Menu, press 0. The Shelf Inventory screen re-appears.
6. To exit the Shelf Inventory screen, press 0. In a craft session, the SCM Main Menu appears. In
a Telnet session, the session is terminated.
