Replacing the SAS backplane

Requirements
– The server has been switched off
– The power cables have been unplugged
– The server has been pulled out of the rack
– The housing cover has been removed
– The processor cover has been removed
Removing the SAS backplane
Ê Unplug all cables from the SAS backplane.

Ê Remove the bottom processor cover carefully from the guide slots on the
side.
Ê Unplug the cable from the tape drive, unlock the tape drive (or its frame) and
push it a few centimeters out of the housing.
Ê Unlock the fans and pull them a few centimeters out toward the front.
