  • Page 9: Stopping Engine

    • Remove oil fill dipstick. • With the Chipper Shredder on level ground, use a funnel to fill engine with oil to FULL mark on dipstick. Capacity is 20 oz. (0.6 liter). Be careful not to overfill. Overfilling will cause the engine to smoke profusely and will result in poor engine performance.
  • Page 10 Check the fuel level periodically to avoid running out of gasoline while operating the chipper shredder. If the unit runs out of gas while operating, it may be necessary to unclog the unit before it can be restarted.
  • Page 11 It is completely normal and does NOT indicate a malfunction of any kind. The noise is caused by the flails (part of the shredding mechanism) pivoting on the chipper shredder’s impeller as it rotates. • Allow the rope to recoil slowly.
  • Page 12 • Keep both hands firmly on the branch as you feed it into the chipper chute. • Never feed more than one branch into the chipper chute at a time. • Never feed anything other than branches (or wood) into the chipper chute.

    Lubrication Spring Latch: Lubricate the latch with light oil once a season Chipper Chute Hinge: Lubricate the hinge with light oil once a season. Chute Deflector: Lubricate the pivot points on the chute deflector with light oil once a season.

    Warm oil flows more easily and will carry away more impurities when draining oil. • Position the chipper shredder on level surface and place an appropriate receptacle with a capacity of at least one quart beneath the oil drain tube. See Figure 16.

    Esta unidad es enviada sin gasolina ni IMPORTANTE: aceite en el motor. Después del montaje, consulte la sección FUNCIONAMIENTO del presente manual para el llenado correcto de combustible y aceite del motor. Esta cortadora trituradora ha sido montada totalmente en la fábrica, excepto por la bolsa de recolección de desechos, la cual se guarda dentro del canal de la cortadora para su envío.
