Do not attach to the camera until the lightheads are fitted. Both of the Explosion Proof lightheads are
in two parts. The rear locking section cannot be attached when the camera is already plugged into
the sonde.

Connecting rod to camera

NOTE: Figure 2.15 shows the P418 Lighthead and camera assembly being connected to the rod. The
same general principle applies for connecting the P417 Lighthead and the camera assembly.
Push the camera hose assembly connector (1) into the sonde, using a gentle sustained pressure

with a slight to-and-fro rotational motion until the two are firmly together.

Tighten the retaining cap (2) hand-tight only.
3.
Tighten the three M3x5 socket head grub screws (3) on the hose connector to ensure that the sonde
and camera/lighthead assembly cannot accidentally separate.
4.
Ensure that the hose assembly (4) can swivel and rotate. Refer to cleaning procedures in Section 4,
if required.
