Section 3 - Operation
The P571 flexicoiler System and associated ancillaries are controlled directly from the keyboard of the
P571 allowing you to operate all camera and lighthead functions from the surface. This Section gives a
detailed description of all functions of the P571 flexicoiler keyboard.

Introduction

All controls for the P571 flexicoiler are on the monitor casing. A full QWERTY keyboard built directly into
the monitor case provides a nine page on-screen text overlay facility, with up to 512 characters per page,
for annotation of inspection findings.
Controls such as contrast and brightness are also located on the monitor casing. The P571 is powered
100 - 240V AC at 50 – 60 Hz. With a choice of either the P415 rotational color flexiprobe camera or the
P455 twin view rotational color flexiprobe Camera, the P571 accepts lightheads of up to 40 Watts.
3.1.1 Power on
WARNING: The P571 will power up as soon as the mains lead is connected to a supply.
After a brief warming up period the monitor screen will display color bars and a welcome message from
Pearpoint.

Monitor controls

3.2.1 Monitor Controls
The 'MONITOR' controls located on the left hand side of the monitor in the lower section, and provide the
following functions:

This button allows you to change the brightness of the screen image. Press + to
brighten the picture. Press – to darken the picture. To set the brightness to the default setting,
depress both buttons simultaneously.
The 'COL' button allows you to change the color of the screen image. Press + to add

the default setting, depress both buttons simultaneously.
The 'HUE' button will only work with NTSC cameras.
