The Digitrax system reduces and simplifies layout wiring. There are many different combinations of Digitrax components that can be used to set up a layout control system that is right for you. You can combine Digitrax products with compatible decoders, boosters and computer software made by other companies that build compatible equipment.
The following sections provide additional information beyond the built in scrolling HELP prompts. Check the Digitrax Web site for the latest DT602 information. The DT602 software can be updated in the field and so the operat- ing screens may change slightly over time.
3.0 Operating on batteries without LocoNet cable All DT602 models can operate unplugged in IR tetherless (without wires) mode if they detect Digitrax Infra-Red (IR) capability when first plugged into a working LocoNet. The DT602D can additionally operate in wireless Digitrax Duplex mode if it detects Duplex capability when first plugged into LocoNet.
“default” address “03”. This means that when you take a Digitrax decoder out of the package and install it in your loco, you can select address “03” on your throttle and run the decoder.
To avoid heat build up in your locos without decoders, Digitrax recommends that analog locos NOT be left sitting on DCC powered track for long periods of time when they are not running.
Once the speed step setting you want to use is in the display, press the key to complete the selection and speed step setting change. Once this change is made, the Digitrax command station will send DCC commands to the edited decoder in the speed step setting you entered.
Option Switches (OpSw) on other LocoNet devices. Switch commands may also be used for controlling Digitrax compatible signal units. This section assumes that you have already installed and programmed turnouts and turnout decoders on your layout.
Alternately, if you know the CV29 Value you want to program into the decoder you can select it and use the keypad to enter the number. NOTE: change a CV to a new value you want without knowing what it was in the decoder. OPS mode read back requires Digitrax compatible transponding decoders and transponding detectors on the layout in order to provide the two way communication required for OPS Mode read back.

9.5 DCS210+ Option switches The DCS210+ has a number of useful Option switches (OPSW), and the most commonly used are below. A comprehensive OPSW listing is on the Digitrax web site. To modify an Option switch: Set the MODE switch to center OP position. The PWR and PROG leds will pulse alternately.
