Digitrax Decoder Manual – Reference for Digitrax Decoders There are many different combinations of Digitrax components that can be used to set up a layout control system that is right for you. You can combine Digitrax products with compatible decoders, boosters and computer software made by other companies that build compatible equipment.

PS314 The DC IN connection is where your PS314 connects to your DCS52. Only the Digitrax PS314 should be used to power your DCS52. RAIL A & B is where your track is connected to the DCS52. One rail con- nects to RAIL A and one connects to RAIL B.

To avoid heat build up in your locos without decoders, Digitrax recommends that analog locos NOT be left sitting on DCC powered track for long periods of time when they are not running.
CV’s are used and program- ming instructions. The factory set address for all Digitrax decoders is “03”. This is the first CV you will want to change because it is not very useful to have all of your locos respond to the same address.

Refer to Section 11.0 for programming instructions. information about programming CV29 is available in your Digitrax Decoder Manual. If you have a Digitrax decoder and you can control the lights but not the motor, check for a motor short circuit. These decoders are designed to shutdown motor operation when a short is detected to prevent damage to the decoder.
It is possible to set acceleration so high that it will take 10 minutes for the loco to start moving. Try resetting the CV values to their factory settings and then running the locomotive. Remember, Digitrax uses address 03 for the factory setting for all decoders. Check your decoder manual for factory settings and instructions on resetting the values.
The DCS52 can be connected to a computer using the USB plug on the back. It provides all the same functionality as a PR4 giving you access to Digitrax SoundLoader II and other computer utility programs. It can also be used as an interface for other compatible layout control software.
