2-1-2. FMLA Head
(1) Detach the top cover of the head following the steps (1) through (7) in section 2-1-1.
(2) Remove the mounting screws (2 pcs.) of the Z motor cover support.
(3) Remove the mounting screws
connector of the LA cable from the sensor.
Disconnect the connector from the θ-motor.

(4) While keeping the head by hand so that it does not fall down,
remove the SEMS cap bolts (4 pcs.). (See Figure 2-1-10.)
(5) Pull out the parallel pin at the top of the head from the head
plate. Then raise the head to detach it so that it is not in
contact with other components.
(6) Reassemble the components in the reverse order of
disassembly.
Apply Loctite 242 to the head mounting screws
and tighten them with a tightening torque of 7.0 N･m.
You can mount the head on the top or bottom of the unit.
The upper hole is for a machine with the component
height of 20 mm; the lower hole is for one with the
component height of 12 mm.
(7) After replacement, measure the mounting position in the
X-direction and adjust it if necessary.
