These icons move the menu cursor (>) when it is visible. During parameter
changes (menu cursor is not visible and parameter is blinking) the keys are
used to scroll through the possible parameter values. Note that on the Main
Screen, the menu cursor is not usually visible. Selecting an arrow icon will
make the cursor visible for selecting and performing parameter changes, e.g.
date and time.

) is used for selecting new menus and entering/exiting parameter

changes. When changing a parameter value, use the arrow icons to navigate
to the menu where the parameter is displayed. Park the cursor just in front of
the parameter (or its label), and activate the
will disappear and the parameter value will begin to blink. Now use the arrow
icons to scroll to the desired value. When the value has been set, activate the
icon again to store the new value permanently. Activate the
change at any time. This will revert to the previous menu to indicate the value
has NOT been saved.
Note that with some parameters, such as "lfit" in the Alarms menu, the

For example, the first parameter you will most likely want to change is the date
and time. On Series 8400 instruments this parameter may be changed
directly on the Main Screen. To do so, activate the
