Meter/Seed Rate Handle
Adjustment
1. If the seed meter shaft is disassembled for
maintenance or repair the seed meters and
adjustment handle will need to be reset or zeroed to
set the meters equally across the section.
2. To reset the meters, reassemble the seed meter and
drive shaft assembly but leave the locking set collars
loose on the shaft and the seed rate adjustment
handle.
a. From the right end of the seed meter and shaft
assembly, lock the very end set collar to the shaft
(See Figure 4-17.)
b. Slide the entire shaft assembly to the left, so the
meter sleeve is against the meter housing, and
the end meter is fully opened.
c. Place a clamp next to the bearing to hold the
shaft assembly in place so it does not try to open.
d. Set the rest of the seed meters, by sliding the
meter sleeve against the meter body, locking the
right set collar.
e. Then slide the meter wheel against the meter
sleeve and tighten the left set collar.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
3. When all collars have been set, release the clamp,
and slide the meter shaft assembly to the left to fully
close the seed meters.
a. Clamp the shaft in place to hold the meters
closed.
b. Slide the handle to the left end (zero) of the box.
Loosen the two bolts holding the indicator scale.
c. Adjust the scale so "0" is positioned over the slot
in the handle.
d. Retighten the bolts for the indicator scale.
e. Remove the clamp.

The seed meters and rate adjustment handle
should now be reset to zero.
