GENERATOR SYSTEM

TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Inspection steps:
1. AC switch (N.F.B.)
2. Engine speed
3. Condenser
4. Main coil AC voltage
5. AC switch (N.F.B.)
6. AC receptacle AC voltage
7. Sub coil AC voltage
8. Sub coil resistance
TIP
9 Remove the following part(s) before troubleshooting.
1) Control box
2) Fuel tank
3) Air filter
9 Use the following special tool(s) for troubleshooting.
Analog pocket tester:
YU-03112-C
Pocket tester:
90890-03112
1. AC switch (N.F.B.)
9 Check the AC switch (N.F.B.) position.
ON
2. Engine speed
9 Check that the economy control switch is
off. (EF7000E/EF7200E/EF7200DE)
9 Start the engine (with no load).
9 Measure the engine speed.
Engine speed:
3110–3210 r/min

9. Main coil AC voltage
10. Main coil resistance
11. Rotor remagnetization
12. Exciter field coil AC voltage
13. Exciter field coil resistance
14. "Short to ground" and "Coils shorted
together" test
15. Rectifier (rotor assembly)
16. Exciter armature coil resistance
4) Muffler
5) Engine
6) Recoil starter
Turn or push the switch on.
Adjust the engine speed.
(Refer to "ADJUSTING THE ENGINE
SPEED" on 2-15, 2-16)
