TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
Start the engine.
Check the overload warning light.
DOES NOT TURN ON
Start the engine.
Check the AC output indicator.

Rated engine speed inspection
Operate the engine with no load.
Set the economy switch to "OFF" "

Main coil AC voltage inspection
Disconnect the subcoil coupler 1.
Connect the Blue leads, and then connect the Orange
leads.

Disconnect the main coil coupler.
Start the engine.
Connect the tip of the probe of pocket tester to the Yel-
low leads.
Measure the voltage. (Tester range: AC 300 V)

Disconnect the overloaded electric device.

Replace the AC output indicator.
Check the throttle control system.
Refer to "THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM" in CHAP-
TER 3.
Magnetic force is weak.
Replace the generator assembly.
Main coil resistance measurement
Stop the engine.
Measure the resistance between the Yellow leads.
(Tester range: Ω × 1)
Main coil resistance:
0.79 Ω ± 20% at 20 °C (68 °F)
(120 V-60 Hz)
2.46 ± 20% at 20 °C (68 °F)
(220 V-50 Hz, 230 V-50 Hz)
GOOD
Replace the generator assembly.
