Adjusting the Screw-in Depth
0 607 460 400
With the adjustment sleeve 12, the screw-in depth of the
screw head into the workpiece can be preset in 4 locking
steps per full turn. Each step corresponds with a 0.25 mm
change of the screw-in depth.
Turning the adjustment sleeve 12 in clockwise direction re-
sults in a greater screw-in depth; turning in anticlockwise di-
rection reduces the screw-in depth.
The required setting is best determined by testing.
Starting and Stopping
General Information
Note: When the pneumatic tool does not start, for example af-
ter a longer rest period, disconnect the air supply, and turn
the motor by the tool holder 1 several times through. This re-
moves the adhesive forces.
To save energy, only switch the pneumatic tool on when you
are using it.
Switching On and Off for Pneumatic Tools with
Safety Clutch
The pneumatic tools have a torque-dependent safety clutch
with a wide adjusting range. The clutch disengages when the
set torque is reached.
Lever Start with Safety Clutch
0 607 460 001
– To switch on the pneumatic tool, press lever 7 and keep it
pressed during the working procedure.
When the set torque for the driving-in procedure is
reached, the screwdriver's ratcheting mechanism over-
rides until lever 7 is released.
– To switch off the pneumatic tool, release the lever 7.
When the lever 7 is released too early, the preset torque is not
reached.
Switch Start with Safety Clutch
0 607 460 401
– To switch on the pneumatic tool, press the On/Off switch
11 and keep it pressed during the working procedure.
Once the torque set for screwdriving is reached, the
screwdriver engages until the On/Off switch 11 is re-
leased.
– To switch off the pneumatic tool, release the On/Off
switch 11.
If the On/Off switch 11 is released too early, the preset torque
is not reached.
Switching On and Off for Pneumatic Tools with
Engaging Clutch
0 607 460 400
The pneumatic tools have an engaging clutch with depth
stop. It activates when the adjustment sleeve for the screw-
ing-depth reaches the workpiece.

Switch Start with Engaging Clutch
– To switch on the pneumatic tool, press the On/Off switch
11. Press the running pneumatic tool with the screwdriver
bit quickly and firmly against the screwing position until
the adjustment sleeve 12 reaches the workpiece.
When the screw-in depth setting is reached, the engaging
clutch separates the tool holder from the drive until the
On/Off switch 11 is released.
– To switch off the pneumatic tool, release the On/Off
switch 11.
Premature releasing of the On/Off switch 11 will not allow the
preset screwing-depth to be reached.
Working Advice
Sudden loads cause a sharp drop in speed or a complete stop,
yet do not cause damage to the motor.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
 Have maintenance and repair work carried out only
through qualified persons. This will ensure that the safe-
ty of the pneumatic tool is maintained.
An authorized Bosch after-sales service agent will carry out
this work quickly and reliably.
Regular Cleaning
– Clean the sieve at the air intake of the pneumatic tool regu-
larly. For this, unscrew the hose fitting 5 and remove any
dust and debris from the sieve. Afterwards, retighten the
hose fitting again.
– Water and debris particles in the compressed air cause
rust and lead to wear of plates, valves etc. To prevent this,
fill several drops of engine oil into the air intake 6. Recon-
nect the pneumatic tool to the air supply (see "Connecting
the Air Supply", page 17) and run it for 5 –10 seconds,
while catching/picking up the escaping oil with a cloth. Al-
ways carry out this procedure when not using the pneu-
matic tool for a longer period of time.
Scheduled Maintenance
– Clean the gearbox after the first 150 running hours using a
mild solvent. Follow the solvent manufacturers directions
for use and disposal. Lubricate the gearbox using Bosch
gearbox lube. Repeat the lubrication procedure every
300 hours after the initial gearbox service.
Special gearbox grease (225 ml)

– The motor plates should be checked regularly by special-
ised personnel and replaced, if required.
Lubrication of Pneumatic Tools that do not belong to the
CLEAN Product Line
For all Bosch pneumatic tools that do not belong to the CLEAN
product line (these have a special type of compressed-air mo-
tor that functions with oil-free compressed air), oil mist
should be added continuously to the flowing-through com-
pressed air. The compressed-air oiler required for this is in-
cluded in the compressed-air service unit on the line side of
