10. Cooking with the Multi-Pot

DANGER!
Please note that the inside of the base unit 17 must re-
main clean and dry.
DANGER! Risk of injury from scalding!
Ensure that no body parts (e.g. hand or arm) are
above the pressure indicator 23 when steam escapes
from it.
Do not open the Multi-Pot while it is pressurised. Please
take note of the chapter "Opening lid safely (while
hot)" on page 12.
DANGER! Risk of injury from burning!
Parts of the surfaces of the device become very hot
during operation. During operation, only touch the de-
vice on the operating panel 10 and handles 3 + 20.
After operation, only grip the pot 7 using
potholders or oven gloves.
NOTES:
• Familiarise yourself with handling the Multi-Pot before
you start cooking (see "Handling of the Multi-Pot" on
page 11).
• The basic procedure is described in the following. For
some programs there are differences, which you can
find in the chapter "Overview of functions" on
page 10 and the description of the individual cooking
programs (see "Individual cooking programs" on
page 16).

10.1 Preparing the cooking process

1.
Prepare the foods as described in the recipe, and
place them in the pot 7.
Please take note of the chapter "Markings in the pot
/ filling volumes" on page 13 and the information in
chapter "Individual cooking programs" on page 16.

Wipe down the outside of the pot 7 if necessary. It
must be clean and dry.

Place the pot 7 into the base unit 17.

Place the lid 5 and lock it, such that the arrow mark-
ing 6 points to the marking

Close/open the pressure valve 1 using the pressure
valve button

- For pressure cooking, the pressure valve 1 must be
closed.
- For cooking without pressure, the pressure valve 1
must be open.

Plug the mains power cable 16 into the port 18 in
the base unit 17. Plug the mains plug into a suitable
wall earthed wall socket. The wall socket must still be
easily accessible after the device is plugged in.

10.2 Cooking times

Cooking times depend on the freshness and quality of the
food, the size of the pieces, and personal preference (al
dente or well done).
To transfer the cooking times from conventional recipes to
cooking with the Multi-Pot, apply the following rules of
thumb:

• If you use larger quantities than indicated in the cook-

9. The locking
1.
As long as the LEDs and the display are flashing, the set-
tings for the time and pressure level can be changed.
NOTE: the preset values and the adjustable ranges can be
found in the table in chapter "Overview of functions" on
page 10.
As soon as the device is connected to the power sup-
ply, the display 29 will show OFF. The device is in
standby mode.
When cooking at high pressure (pressure level
High 54), the cooking time is reduced by approx.
half.
Example:
A recipe calls for a cooking time of 90 minutes. At
pressure level High 54, for the Multi-Pot this means:
1/2 of 90 min. = 45 minutes.
When cooking at low pressure (pressure level
Low 56), the cooking time is reduced to approx. two
thirds.
Example:
A recipe calls for a cooking time of 90 minutes. At
pressure level Low 56, for the Multi-Pot this means:
2/3 of 90 min. = 60 minutes.
When cooking without pressure (pressure valve 1
open), the cooking time remains the same.

Press the desired program button. The LEDs above the
program button and above the Start button Start 44
will flash. The display 29 shows the cooking time set
as Normal 51 and the preset cooking time will flash.
