In cases of damage, contact a qualified
specialist workshop.
Check the charging cable connector and
R
the charging cable coupling for rust or
corrosion.
In cases of damage due to rust or corro-
sion, do not charge the high-voltage
battery and contact a qualified special-
ist workshop.
G
DANGER
The high-voltage battery charging proc-
ess involves high voltage. If you use the
charging cable, the charging cable socket
or the charging cable connector incor-
rectly during the charging process, it
could cause a fire or you could receive an
electric shock. There is a risk of fatal
injury!
To avoid such risks, observe the following:
Do not pull out the charging cable con-
R
nector or the charging cable socket dur-
ing the charging process.
Do not charge the high-voltage battery
R
in temperatures of over 50 † and below
-40 †.
Do not drive over charging cable con-
R
nector.
Avoid sharp impacts which could dam-
R
age the insulating protective cover.
Do not pull on the charging cable.
R
Do not touch the charging cable in thun-
R
der and lightning.
Do not handle the charging cable con-
R
nector and the charging cable socket
with wet hands.
Do not use the charging cable for any
R
other purpose than to charge the high-
voltage battery.
Only use the supplied charging cable to
R
charge the high-voltage battery.
If you notice an unusual odour develop,
R
or notice smoke or burn marks, stop
Charging the high-voltage battery
charging immediately and contact a
qualified specialist workshop.
After charging the high-voltage battery,
R
store the charging cable in the charging
cable bag and keep the charging cable
out of reach of children and animals.
Check the maximum rating of the fuses of
R
the vehicle which is charged when sta-
tionary.
Check whether the external mains sup-
R
ply has a sufficient fuse in the building.
G
DANGER
If prior to usage the charging cable is not
prepared correctly, it could cause a fire or
an electric shock. This poses an increased
risk of injury or even fatal injury.
To avoid such risks, observe the following:
Before using the charging cable for the
R
first time, remove the adhesive tape
which holds the cable together.
Unwind the charging cable fully before
R
every charging process.
Ensure that the charging cable is not
R
twisted. Otherwise, the charging cable
may overheat and the cable covering
may be damaged.
Do not insert any objects which conduct
R
electricity into the charging cable con-
nector or the charging cable socket.
Do not make any changes or modifica-
R
tions to the charging cable.
Since the vehicle's high-voltage electrical
system is under high voltage, observe the
following:
do not tamper with high-voltage compo-
R
nents or the orange cables of the vehicle's
high-voltage electrical system
never touch the high-voltage components
R
or the orange cables of the high-voltage
electrical system in a vehicle which has
been involved in an accident
