Charging process
Problem
The charge socket flap
cannot be opened.
The charging cable
cannot be plugged into
the vehicle socket.

high-voltage battery

been connected to the

Possible causes/consequences and M Solutions
The charge socket flap is not unlocked.

Press the # button on the key.
The key batteries are discharged.

Opening a door with the emergency release
The vehicle socket is locked.

Make sure that the selector lever is in position j.
A fault occurred while initializing the charging process.
X
Make sure that the charging cable is plugged into the mains
socket.
X
Disconnect the charging cable connector from the vehicle
socket and plug it back into the vehicle socket after 30 seconds.
X
If the malfunction should persist, inform a qualified specialist
workshop.
There is a malfunction at the mains socket.

Have the mains socket checked to ensure that it is working
correctly.

Use a different mains socket.
The charging cable is plugged into the vehicle socket. The engine
cannot be started.

Before driving off, disconnect the charging cable from the
vehicle socket and stow it away in the vehicle.
The charge cable is connected to the vehicle socket. The battery is
not being charged.

Make sure that the charging cable is correctly plugged into the
sockets on the vehicle and power connection. If necessary, dis-
connect the charging cable from the sockets and then reconnect
it.
