Closing the tailgate

Pull the tailgate up until it engages.

Press the & button on the key.
The vehicle is locked.
Enlarging the load compartment: fold-
ing the seat backrest forwards
Folding the seat backrest forwards (using

Lift lever ; and slide the front-passenger
seat to its rearmost position.

Pull lever : forwards.

Fold the seat backrest forwards at the same
time.

Turn handwheel : forward.

WARNING
If the seat backrest is not engaged, it may
fold forwards, e.g. during braking or in the
event of an accident.
As a result, a backrest which is not
R
engaged would press you into the seat
belt. The seat belt cannot perform its
intended protective function and could
additionally cause injury.
The backrest cannot restrain objects or
R
loads in the boot.
This poses an increased risk of injury.
Before every journey, make sure that the
backrest is engaged as described.

On its own, the boot cover cannot secure or
restrain heavy objects, items of luggage
and heavy loads. You could be hit by an
unsecured load during sudden changes in
direction, braking or in the event of an
accident. There is an increased risk of
injury or even fatal injury.
Always store objects so that they cannot be
flung around. Secure objects, luggage or
loads against slipping or tipping over, e.g.
