To add communications functionality, or other features not
available on CCOMe-965 Carrier board, it is possible to use
Half-/ Full-size mini-PCI Express cards, using the dedicated
connectors, CN5 and CN8, which are standard 52pin miniPCI
Express connectors, type MOLEX 67910-0002 or equivalent,
H=4.0mm, with the pinout shown in the table on the left.
The CCOMe-965 carrier board allows inserting both Half-mini
and Full-mini PCI express cards. Support for both form factors is
ensured by the possibility, for the customer, of moving the
mechanical latch in the position necessary to support Half-miniPCI-e cards or Full-miniPCI-e
cards.
Signals carried to miniPCI-express slot #0 are the following:
PCIE_TX5+/PCIE_TX5-: PCI Express lane #5, Transmitting Output Differential pair.
PCIE_RX5+/PCIE_RX5-: PCI Express lane #5, Receiving Input Differential pair.
mPCIE_CLK0+ / mPCIE_CLK0-: PCI Express Reference Clock for lane #5, Differential Pair.
USB4+ / USB4-: USB Port #4 differential pair, used on miniPCI-e Slot #0.
PCIE_WAKE#: Board's Wake Input, it must be externally driven by the miniPCI-e module
inserted in the slot when it requires waking up the system.
PCIE_RST#: Reset Signal that is sent from COM Express
available on the board.
mPCIE_CLOCK_REQUEST_0#: PCI Express Clock Request Input. This signal shall be driven
low by the module inserted in the miniPCI express slot, in order to ensure that the PCI-e clock
buffer available on the carrier board makes available the reference clock for the miniPCI-e slot.
SMB_CK: SM Bus control clock line for System Management.
SMB_DAT: SM Bus control data line for System Management.
Three SMT RED LEDs are present near this Mini PCI-Express Card Slot to show the presence
of an eventual Wi-Fi PCI-Express Card inserted in the slot. These LEDs can work only if the
Wi-Fi Mini PCI Express Card you are using supports and drives them opportunely.
Green Led, D3: Wireless_WAN #0 present (cellular data, like GSM/GPRS/UMTS)
Yellow Led, D2: Wireless_LAN #0 present (for wireless networks 802.11b/g/a)
Red Led, D1: Wireless_PAN #0 present (Bluetooth)
module to all PCI-e devices
