Connecting a Modem
The following figure shows how to connect a modem to the Nortel router.

Follow this procedure to connect the SR3120 to a modem.

Note: This command has to be executed in the active telnet session
and is not saved after the telnet session is terminated.
Action
Connect the male end of the DB-25 adapter to the female DB-25
port on the modem.
Connect one end of a supplied RJ-45 cable to the RJ-45 port in
the DB-25 adapter.
Connect the other end of the RJ-45 cable to the Console port on
the SR3120.
Configure the modem as follows:
•
Set modem to override "Carrier Detect (DCD)"
•
Set modem to override "Terminal Ready (DTR)"
•
Set to connect at 9600bps
•
Set DTE rate to 9600bps
•
Configure the modem for quite mode without result codes
•
Configure the modem for no flow control or software flow control
