CAUTION
ESD
Before connecting cables or performing maintenance on a Secure
Router 3120, always wear an ESD-preventative wrist strap.
Connect the banana plug to the ESD ground connector on the
Secure Router 3120 chassis. Make sure that the wrist strap
makes contact with your skin.
CAUTION
As a general safety precaution, be sure to provide DC power
through either a fuse or DC circuit breaker with a maximum rating
of 3 amps.
Note: The connection between the earthed conductor of the DC power
circuit and the earthing conductor is provided at the source.
Action
Make sure the DC power source is turned off.
For single source power, remove 1/2 inch of insulation from both
ends of two 18 AWG copper wires. Refer to
Power, and Ground Wires" (page
For redundant (dual source) power, each supply must have its own
input. Use two wires for each input.
Insert the stripped ends of the wires into the input terminals.
Connect the –48 V lead to the –48 V terminal.
Connect the +48 V return lead to the appropriate +48 RTN terminal.
CAUTION
To avoid equipment damage, make sure that the +48V
lead is connected to the appropriate RTN connector on
the terminal block.
Clamp each inserted wire:
a. Insert a small screwdriver in the port above each inserted wire.
b. Tighten the screw to within the torque guidelines printed on the
back panel.
