Configuring the Contivity 100 unit through a dial-up
connection
To configure the Contivity 100 unit through a dial-up connection using the
out-of-band management feature, you must:

Use the Configuration switches on the back of the Contivity 100 unit to set the
unit's AUX port connection speed to 9600 baud. For details, refer to
settings for the AUX port speed" on page

Connect the modem to a terminal.

Use terminal emulation software to configure the modem connection settings.
4
Connect the modem to your unit.

Connecting a modem to a PC

For this procedure, you do not need to load the modem drivers on the PC.
To connect a modem to a PC:

Connect the modem's power cord to the modem and the power outlet, as
described in the modem's installation instructions.

Plug one end of the DB9 serial cable into the modem.

Note: If you know that your modem and terminal emulation software
support 115200 baud, you do not have to change the unit's AUX port
speed to 9600 baud (step 1). You can connect at 115200 baud.
Note: You can also connect a dumb terminal to a modem in a similar
manner.
