Assigning IP parameters using Enterprise Device Manager
The following procedure describes how to use Quick Start to assign IP parameters to the ERS
5000 Series switch.
1. Connect a computer to the switch through a data port using a standard RJ-45
2. Open a web browser on the attached computer.
3. Enter the factory default IP address of the switch in the following format: http://
4. From the navigation tree, click Administration > Quick Start.
5. In the In-Band Stack IP Address dialog box, type a switch or stack IP address .
6. In the In-Band Subnet Mask dialog box, type a subnet mask.
7. In the Default Gateway dialog box, type an IP address.
8. Click Apply.

The Base LED and the Up and Down LEDs are now steady amber to indicate that
the button press was recognized.
The In-Use IP address changes to the IP address of your switch.
The color and status of the Status LED turns to steady green when the system
accepts the command. If the system rejects the command, the Status LED turns to
amber blinking.
Initial IP configuration using the UI/Mode Select button is complete.
To continue switch configuration, access the switch through the ACLI or Enterprise
Device Manager.
