Chapter 1 Installing Operating System
– Set the IP address.
1.
Select [Configure Management Network] and press Enter.
2.
Select [IPv4 Configuration] and press Enter.
3.
Select [Set static IPv4 address and network configuration] and press the space bar.
4.
Enter [IPv4 Address], [Subnet Mask] and [Default Gateway], and press Enter.
5.
In the [Configure Management Network] screen, press ESC to display the confirmation screen. Press Y
to enable the network settings and return to the main menu.
– Follow the steps below when specifying the DNS server.
1.
Select [Configure Management Network] and press Enter.
2.
Select [DNS Configuration] and press Enter.
3.
Enter [Primary DNS Server], [Alternate DNS Server] and [Hostname], and press Enter.
4.
In the [Configure Management Network] screen, press ESC to display the confirmation screen. Press Y
to enable the network settings and return to the main menu.
– Follow the steps below when configuring the settings for searching the DNS domain.
1.
Select [Configure Management Network] and press Enter.
2.
Select [Custom DNS Suffixes] and press Enter.
3.
In the [Custom DNS Suffixes] dialog box, enter one or more DNS suffixes and press Enter.
4.
In the [Configure Management Network] screen, press ESC to display the confirmation screen. Press Y
to enable the network settings and return to the main menu.

Note
Set a static IP address instead of using DHCP.
Important
The ESXi host and ftSys Management Appliance must exist on the same network.
Note
If the IP address is changed after installation, perform steps described in Chapter 1 (2.3.1
If the network settings of the ESXi host or root user password has been changed).
Important
Specify the DNS server from which you can obtain a correct hostname and IP
address. If an inappropriate DNS server is specified, installation may fail.
Note
You can configure the DNS server after completion of installation.
If the host name is changed, perform steps described in Chapter 1 (2.3.1 If the network
settings of the ESXi host or root user password has been changed).
Important
If an inappropriate DNS domain is specified, installation may fail.
