Introduction

Rinnai New Zealand understands that peace of mind is associated with a safe and well
maintained gas fireplace. This is why Rinnai recommends this appliance is serviced every two
years by a licensed gasfitter.
If the appliance is in a particularly
dusty environment or subject to
excess lint, for example dog hair,
or where there are newly laid
carpets, then annual servicing
would be beneficial.
Regular maintenance/servicing
is not covered by the Rinnai
warranty.
Damaged supply cord or other
components
If the supply cord or any other
component of the appliance
is damaged or requires
replacing, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer or a Rinnai
authorised service centre in order
to avoid a hazard. Any damaged
component must only be replaced
with a genuine Rinnai spare part.
Any repair work should only be
carried out by a Rinnai authorised
service centre.
The following maintenance
instructions identify key
component checks required
every two years to maintain the
performance and safety of the
appliance. Depending on the
condition of the appliance, these
checks should take approximately
1-2 hours to complete.

Regular maintenance of the Rinnai
Symmetry gas fire should include
the following:
F Check of combustion chamber
pressure relief and glass
gasket
F Log set removal and clean
F Inspection of heat exchanger
F Check of pilot assembly and
cleaning of injectors
F Inspection of flue restrictor
F Fan inspection and clean (if
applicable)
F Pressure test
F Flame picture inspection and
performance test
