About this pump

Solenoid metering pumps delta
their option to connect to a CANopen bus system.
®
CAN-delta can be connected to a CANopen bus or operated separately.
Examples:
• Metering of hydrochloric acid in a swimming pool water circuit where a controller drives the
pump in the operating mode "Bus".
• Metering of disinfectants in a bottle cleaning plant where the required metering volume is set
via the stroke frequency and the stroke length is set manually in the operating mode "Manual".
CAN-delta ® in the version "DULCOMARIN
be integrated into the swimming pool controller system DULCOMARIN
well as the connection options with the connecting elements used here are guaranteed.
CAN-delta ® in the version "CANopen" (Identcode feature "Control type" = C) is designed for
integration into a CANopen system.

Functional description

The pump can only be controlled via the CANopen bus if it is set to "active" in the setting menu
"CANopen" (see Chap. 7, "Setting"). Then, there are only setting options for the language and the
units.
If the CAN cable is not connected given CANopen Bus set to active or if the bus traffic is faulty,
the pump signals a bus error.
If the pump is set to "passive" in the setting menu "CANopen", the pump can participate in the
bus traffic, however, cannot be controlled via the bus.
The pump also signals the set stroke length via the bus.

Electrical installation

CAUTION
• Never connect a T-distributor directly to the housing!
The flush-type connector at the housing might break!
• Manually tighten the screw fittings of the CAN cables up to the stop!
Otherwise, the degree of protection IP 65 will not be guaranteed.
Connect the CAN cable to the connection for the CANopen bus as shown below (for further
details see "Operating DULCOMARIN
documentation of your CANopen installation).
Connect the mains plug to the mains socket – the metering pump may start to pump!
