Safety
2.1
Safety instructions
–
Only use the product in original status without unauthorised modifications.
–
Only use the product if it is in perfect technical condition.
–
Only use the product in an industrial environment.
–
This product can generate high frequency malfunctions, which may make it
necessary to implement interference suppression measures in residential
areas.
–
Observe labelling on the product.
–
Prior to mounting, installation and maintenance work: Switch off power sup-
ply and secure it from being switched back on. Only switch on the power sup-
ply when the product has been assembled and installation and maintenance
work is complete.
–
Product is opened in normal position (pressurisation status). If the minimum
supply voltage is exceeded at the control extension series 1 device, the
product switches to the pressurisation status.
–
Note that, when the inlet pressure is switched off, depending on the function
a residual pressure of < 1 bar (< 0.1 MPa) can remain at the output
è Standby detection and automatic blocking of the compressed air supply.
2.2
Intended use
The purpose of the energy efficiency module MSE6-D2M is to monitor the com-
pressed air and the energy-efficient supply of pneumatic systems.
2.3
Foreseeable misuse
The following examples of foreseeable misuse are among those not approved as
intended use:
–
Outdoor use
–
Not mounted on the mounting plate
–
Exhaust ports sealed
2.4
Training of qualified personnel
Installation, commissioning, service and disassembly should only be conducted
by skilled personnel. The skilled personnel must be familiar with the installation
of electrical and pneumatic control systems.

CPX-Extension connection for connecting to a CPX field bus node (decentral-
ised device that must be connected via a special connecting cable to a device
with extension series 1 interface, e. g. energy efficiency module MSE6-C2M,
CPX terminal).
Standby detection and automatic blocking of the compressed air supply
The product detects downtimes of a pneumatic system upon corresponding para-
meterisation. The system is separated from the compressed air supply using the
shut-off valve without exhausting the downstream system. If the product receives
a release signal in the automatically activated blocking mode, the shut-off valve
opens, and the system is again supplied with compressed air. Automatic blocking
of the compressed air supply can be activated and deactivated by the user. In the
deactivated status, the shut-off valve can be controlled directly by the machine
controller. After exhausting via connection 1, a residual pressure of < 1 bar can
remain at connection 2.
Pressure tightness testing
When in the blocked state, the product measures the pressure curve over time.
The measured pressure change serves as a measure for the existing leakage in
the system. If the parameterised limit value is exceeded, the product issues a dia-
gnostic message via the bus node in extension series 1.
Pressure recording
The product continuously measures the outlet pressure, prepares the data and
makes it available cyclically. To detect excessive operating pressures, the product
offers the option of parameterising limit values for pressure. If the parameterised
limit value is exceeded, the product will issue a diagnostic message via the CPX-
Extension series 2 connection to the bus node.
