Step4 Update an application file.
Using FTP, you can upload an application file from the client to the server (switch), and overwrite the
original main application file to implement application updating. The updated application file takes effect
when the switch reboots.
# Upload file main_bak.app from the PC to the switch, and saves it as main.app.
ftp> binary
200 Type set to I.
ftp> lcd d:\update
Local directory now D:\update.
ftp> put main_bak.app main.app
200 Port command okay.
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for main.app.
226 Transfer complete.
When you update an application file, if a file having the same name with the uploaded file exists on
the server, the system overwrites the file on the server directly.

Manual.
You can update a configuration file in the way you update an application file. A configuration file
can be modified by a text editor. You can modify a configuration file and then download the
modified configuration file to the switch, and the modification takes effect after the switch reboots.
Step5 Back up an application file.
Using FTP, you can back up an application file by downloading it from the server to the client.
# Download file main.app from the switch to the PC, and save it as main_bak.app.
ftp> get main.app main_bak.app
200 Port command okay.
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for main_bak.app.
226 Transfer complete.
Input the username configured on the FTP
server.
Input the password.
You have logged into the FTP server
successfully.
