SETTING UP 7.1 Installation Room • This XR 24 Nova X-ray film developer is only allowed to be installed in a dry, well ventilated room. • The room has to have an R 3/4" water outlet (24) with pipe ventilation, a water outlet (25) with a ventilated plastic odour closure, and an earthing-contact type socket (26).
7.3 Mounting • Take out all small parts. • Take hold of the machine at the sides and lift it out of its box. • Set the machine up near the water supply, the water outlet, and the earthing-contact type socket (no more than 1.5 metres away from any of them).

10. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION The machine is designed for a mains voltage of 230V or 100-110 V at 50-60 Hz (see rating plate). Before connecting the machine to the mains, make absolutely sure that the right mains voltage is available, as the machine could be seriously damaged otherwise.

12. PUTTING INTO OPERATION The developing machine must never be operated without roll packages! There is a danger of acid burning your eyes! If there are no roll packages in the machine, the developer and fixative liquids can squirt vertically upwards out of the developing machine under pressure.
13. TRANSPORTATION Please note the following points before transporting the developing machine: Only ever transport the developing machine when its tanks are empty. • Switch the mains switch (A) off. • Close the water tap (24). • Unplug the mains cable from the earthing- contact type socket and from the machine.

15. MAINTENANCE Chemical cleaning of the tanks is not necessary. Only the roll packages need to be cleaned chemically with the aid of the XR Clean-Set (chemicals bath and accessories), part no. 1700-007-00. When chemicals are being changed or the roll packages chemically cleaned, the attached cleaning instructions (A3 poster) must be followed, part no.

• Remove the floating cover from the developer and fixative bath, drain thoroughly, and place to one side. • Unscrew the small stoppers from the lifting bath, then the big stoppers from the tanks. • Empty the catchment tanks. • Unscrew the covers from the catchment tanks and place the ends of the hose pipe into a neutral tank.
