Metal detector is used outdoors. There is too much metals indoors,and also all kinds of
electrical equipment that will bring interference signals,so it's not fit for using the detector.
Field detection is more complicated, the composition of the detected regional soil,the
component,size,shape and the oxidation degree of the underground metals will all affect
the detection results. This chapter is only the general steps of the field detection. The op-
erator should practice time after time and accumulate experience to achieve good results.
1. Turn on.
2. In generally,the operator should set
the mode switch to the ALL METAL. At
this time,the detector will respond to all
kinds of metals. When finding the tar-
get, togggle the mode switch to DISC or
TONE, then you could discriminate the
metal type approximately by the DISC/
TONE knob.
When the MODE switch is in the "DISC" position,the detector has the ability of dicrimi-
nation metals. Rotate the DISC/TONE knob from "0" to "10",the detector will reject the
different metals according to the conductivity. To the rejected metals,the unit won't
respond. While to the accepted metals,the unit will sound a long "DI" tone,and the
pointer will swing for one time.
When the MODE switch is in the "TONE" position,the detector also has the ability of
dicrimination metals. Different from the "DISC" mode,to the rejected metals, the unit
will respond with a short "Ko" "Ko" tone. While to the accepted metals, the unit will
sound a long "DI" tone,and the pointer will swing for one time. As it's difficult to set the
discriminate position during detection, so it's more effective not to miss the treasures
with TONE mode.
3. Adjust DISC/TONE knob
The DISC/TONE knob is only useful in "DISC" mode and "TONE" mode. After finding
metal target, the operator should use DISC/TONE knob to judge the approximate type
of the metal target. When rotating the knob from 0 to10, Iron, Nickel, Pull tab, Zinc,
Copper and Aluminum will be rejected one by one. Note: the silver won't be rejected;
The discrimination position of aluminium is similar to silver. The discrimination position
of gold is similar to pull tab.
