2.1.3 Carriage Protection Operation

This scanner is not equipped with a Carriage Lock. For that reason, the Carriage is
moved to the center by firmware control after being left on Ready status for a certain
amount of time to protect the Carriage. This section describes the condition of the
Carriage movement to the center.
NOTE: The Scanner Ready status are states not mentioned below.
During lamp warm up
During Carriage operation
During image scanning
COMPULSORY CARRIAGE MOVEMENT
The Carriage automatically moves to the center of the scanner after a certain amount of
time with no operation, but by following the next step, you can force the Carriage to
move to the center. The lamp turns off as the Carriage moves.
Perfection V10/V100 Photo/V350 Photo
Hold down the Start and Scan to PDF buttons simultaneously for three
seconds or longer.
Perfection V200 Photo
Hold down the Scan to E-Mail and Copy buttons simultaneously for three
seconds or longer.

WHEN PUSH BUTTON EVENT IS EFFECTIVE
The condition of Carriage movement when the Push button event is set effective in the
Windows Control Panel.

Note "*1": After pushing the Push Button, no action was taken even with the event selection window
opened in the PC display.
"*2": The Carriage will move to the center and lamp will turn off if the EPSON Scan is shut down,
regardless of any action taken or passed time.
"*3": Including the 30 seconds before the Carriage moves to the center.

The condition of Carriage movement when the Push Button event is set off in the
Windows Control Panel.

Note "*1": The Carriage moves to the Home Position by pushing the Push Button, and the lamp turns off.
The Push Button event is ineffective therefore, the event selection window will not be
displayed in the PC display.
