INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
MODEL VM520 204NCH MONOCHROME MONITOR
The information in this manual covers the installation,
Operation and maintenance of the VM520 Monochrome
Monitor. This unit should only be installed by a qualified
technician using approved materials in accordance with
national, state and local wiring codes. Read these instmc-
tions through completely before attempting installation.
The VM520 Monochrome Monitor features a large 20-
inch (51 cm) screen. A horizontal resolution of 1000
lines at center is capable of producing crisp, high-con-
trast pictures or data display. The rugged yet attractively-
styled cabinet has convenient front panel operating
controls for power, brightness and contrast.
The monitor provides rear-panel video input and video
output connectors with loop-through capability. Fast-
acting automatic frequency control (AFC) provides sta-
ble playback from a video cassette recorder (VCR).
Video termination is internal and automatic.
All Vicon equipment is tested and inspected before leaving
the factory. It is the carrier's responsibility to deliver the
equipment in the same condition as it left the factory.

The VM52Ois available in two input power configurations,
120 V, 60 Hz, and 230 V, 50 Hz (Model VM520-230). The
monitor automatically detects the television system (EL4
or CCIR) and adjusts accordingly.
The VM520 complies with FCC standards for a Class A
device and with European Community EMC Directive
in European Normalization Standard EN 50081-l (Elec-
tromagnetic Compatibility - General Emissions Standard
Part 1: Residential, Commercial, and Light Industry), and
EN 50082-l (Electromagnetic Compatibility - Generic
Immunity Standard Part 1: Residential, Commercial, and
Light Industry).

2.1.1 INSPECTION FOR VISIBLE DAMAGE

Immediately inspect the cartons upon delivery. Make a
note of any visible damage on all copies of the carrier's
freight bill.
