2 is not installed. Does it mean CPU2 is required to support processor 2 - memory DIMM
E1, F1, G1 and H1 of processor 2?
ANSWER: Yes. Processor 2 is required to support memory channel E, F, G & H of processor
2.
28. Can we mix RDIMM and UDIMM in memory Independent mode
ANSWER: No.
29. Which DIMM would be primary In "Mirror mode"? For example, is it data copied from A1 to
C1 of processor 1 when DIMM A1 and C1 of processor 1 are installed?
ANSWER: DIMM A1 and C1 of processor 1 are accessed at the same time.
30. What is the benefit of Un-buffered ECC DIMM?
ANSWER: Un-buffered ECC DIMM is lower cost than Registered DIMM.
31. Is there any different in reliability between Un-buffered DIMM and Registered DIMM?
ANSWER: Un-buffered ECC DIMM and Registered DIMM have the same reliability.

ANSWER: Altos T350 F2 supports one DIMM or two DIMMs configuration. But please install
4 DIMMs to each processor for best performance.
33. When Altos T350 F2 is equipped with two processors, can I just install 4 DIMMs in DIMM
A1, B1, C1 and D1 of processor 1? I mean in this configuration, can CPU2 still access the
memory that connected to CPU1 only?
ANSWER: Yes, CPU2 still can access the memory on CPU1 through the QPI (QuickPath Interconnect)
between processors.
However, it is recommended to install DIMMs on each processor. So, each processor has its
own local memory (belong to the memory controller of this processor) which has better
bandwidth and lower latency than remote memory (belonging to the neighboring controller).
