Packaging and sterilization
Only cleaned and disinfected nebulizers are allowed
to be sterilized. If possible, the nebulizers should be
re-assembled prior to sterilization.
Prior to sterilization the nebulizers must be packed in
disposable sterilization packagings, which correspond
to EN ISO 11607.
Alternatively, sterilization containers can be used. Prior
to sterilization the nebulizers must be placed in a sui-
table sterilization container:
– as per DIN EN 868 / ANSO AAMI ISO 11607
– which are suitable for steam sterilization (temperature
resistant up to 121°C, sufficient steam permeability)
and regularly maintained.
Recommended method:
Steam sterilization
– fractionated vacuum procedure (with sufficient
product drying)
– steam sterilizer as per EN 13060 / EN 285
– validated as per EN ISO 17665 (valid commissioning
and product specific efficiency evaluation)
– sterilization time at least 20 minutes at 121°C
It is absolutely not allowed to use the sterilization
procedure with hot air (destruction of the nebulizer).
