Calculate the lengths of the flush bolt rods

The lengths of the flush bolt rods must be adapted to the individual mounting
situation.
Attention!
Cutting the wrong flush bolt rod will render them useless: The upper flush bolt
rod (hollow inside) must be cut to size, whereas the lower flush bolt rod (solid) is
normally not. The two flush bolt rods are not interchangeable.
Cutting the wrong end of the flush bolt rod will render it useless: The flush bolt
rods each have a thread on one end for mounting on the lock. If the thread is cut
off, the flush bolt rod can no longer be mounted on the lock.
1
Calculate the lengths of the
flush bolt rods based on the
following formulas (Pic. 4)
from the indication line on the
faceplate:
∙ for narrow stile
(Backsets: 30 – 45 mm)
L1 = x1 – 60 mm
L2 = x2 – 97 mm
∙ for wide stile
(Backsets: 65 – 100 mm)
L1 = x1 – 42 mm
L2 = x2 – 79 mm
Optional: Rod length for low-
noise locking
2
Calculate the length of the
upper flush bolt rod based on
the following formula:
L = x1 + y1 – 58 mm
L = x1 + y1 - 40 mm
