The commands listed above are of two distinct types, destructive and non-destructive.
Care must be taken when using this program so that you do not destroy customer data
areas if it is unnecessary to do so.
The destructive commands are to be used only if
there is no way to save the customer's data.
The destructive commands are shown with
an asterisk (-) in the above list.
One of the most useful commands for the novice user of this program is the HELP
command.
Contained within the program
ace
descriptions of all of the commands.
Typing HELP will display all of these commands.
You can then type the command that
"-/
you are interested in to view an explanation and syntax of the command in question.
COMMAND DESCRIPTION
The commands will now be discused in more detail with the required syntax, and the
norm al use of the commands.
Those that are considered dcatructivc will be preceded
with an asterisk (-).

[cylinder number]
C YLI NO ER is used to set the current cylinder position
on the Winchester drive.
ERROR
*FORMAT
HEAD
HELP
[error number]
[clear]

[head number]
ERROR is used to examine errors that were recorded
into the error buffer.
FORMAT will format the entire disk.
It cannot be
used to ready the drive for an operating system.
HEAD is used to set the current head on the drive.
HELP can be used to Vlew a description of any
available command.
