Your safety
trician approved by the local energy
supply company (see "Service depart-
ment" on page GB-27). Only then will
you benefi t from our warranty and a
suffi cient level of safety. Unauthor-
ised persons may not connect the ap-
pliance to the mains supply. You can
endanger your life and that of subse-
quent users! This also applies to dis-
connection from the power supply
and dismantling the old appliance.
Keep the mains plug and cord away
from naked fl ames and hot surfaces.
Do not kink or pinch the mains cord
or lay it over sharp edges.
If the mains cord of the appliance is
damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, through customer ser-
vice or by a qualifi ed specialist.
Since all poles of the appliance can-
not be disconnected from the mains
via an accessible disconnecting de-
vice, an all-pole disconnecting device
in accordance with overvoltage cat-
egory III must be connected within
the house installation with at least 3
mm contact clearance; this includes
fuses, miniature circuit breakers and
protective devices.
Before connecting the hob, switch off
the relevant power circuit or turn off
the relevant fuses. Before accessing
the terminals, all supply circuits must
be switched off.
Do not extend or amend the power
cord.
Never open the housing.
Never repair a defective or suspected
defective appliance yourself. You can
put your own and future users' lives
in danger. Only authorised specialists
are allowed to carry out this repair
work.
Do not operate the hob with an exter-
nal timer or a separate remote con-
trol system.
Do not put any objects in or through
the housing openings, and also make
sure that children cannot insert any
objects in them.
Do not continue to cook if there are
cracks in the glass ceramic hob. Wa-
ter that runs through cracks inside
the glass ceramic hob may be live! If
there are visible cracks on your glass
ceramic hob, disconnect the hob from
the mains (switch off and/or unscrew
fuse). Contact our Service depart-
ment (see "Service department" on
page GB-27).
Risks to children
Risk of suffocation!
Do not allow children to play with the
packaging fi lm. They may get caught
in it and suffocate.
Prevent children from taking small
parts out of the accessory bag and
putting them in their mouths.
Risk of burns!
Do not store items that could be of
interest to children in the storage
space above or below the hob. Chil-
dren could be encouraged to climb on
the hob.
Do not leave pot/pan handles stick-
ing out over the edge of the worktop;
this ensures children cannot reach up
and pull down the cookware.
