Cooking zones/areas and sensors
Operating time limit
Each cooking zone/area is provided with an
operating time limit. If the heat setting is not
changed for a prolonged period of time, the
cooking zone/area is automatically switched
off and the residual heat indicator 'H' is acti-
vated.
The maximum operating time is set in accord-
ance with the most recently selected heat set-
ting.

Cooking areas

It is advisable to use the cooking area if you
want to use large pots or roasting pans.
Please observe the correct positioning of the
cookware:
• Please also ensure that the cookware is
always placed in the middle of the cook-
ing zone/area.
• For oval or rectangular roasting pans,
ensure that they cover the centre of the
cooking area.
• The cookware should cover at least ¾ of
the cooking zone/area. It is not advisable
to place a round pot in the centre of a
cooking area.

2. Set the desired heat output using the slid-
er sensor (14).

Booster function

When the booster function is active the cook-
ing zone/area heats up at maximum power
for 5 minutes. After this time the cooking
zone/area returns to the original heat setting.
If the original heat setting was "0", the cook-
ing zone/area heats up to heat setting "9".
The booster function is advisable e.g. for rap-
id searing or boiling water. It is also suitable
for fast boiling and continued cooking at a
reduced temperature. First select a medium
heat setting (e.g. "5") and then activate the
boost function.
The boost function is available for all cooking
zones/areas.
1. Touch the sensor of the cooking zone/
area for which you would like to activate
the boost function.
The heat setting display of the cooking
zone/area flashes.

2. Touch the boost sensor (15).
"b. " now appears in the heat setting display.
3. If you would like to deactivate the boost
function early, touch the sensor of the
cooking zone/area for which you would
like to deactivate the boost function.
4. Touch the boost sensor.
The "b. " disappears from the heat setting
display and the original heat setting is dis-
played again.
